Irbesartan + HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide): Avalide (hydrochlorothiazide and irbesartan) is a combination medication used for treating high blood pressure containing hydrochlorothiazide , a diuretic, and irbesartan, an angiotensin ii receptor (arb). Arb medications work by competitively, or non-competitively, blocking the receptor activated by a blood pressure raising compound known as angiotensin ii.
