Torsion: Torsion is a twist of the blood supply to the testes...A cord twist....It requires surgery to repair and untwist cord and then secure the testes to the side wall inside the scrotum so it does not twist again..Called an orichiopexy...If the testes is not untwisted within several hours the testes will die/infarct.

Here is...: Just to open scrotum to explore and inspect the testis if DX is correct or not. If correct, decide if just fix the testis so to avoid recurrent torsion or if to remove it for the "dead" testis. Testicular fixation is accomplished with 2-3 non-absorbable stitches to tack the testis to most correponding and dependent spots in dartos muscle of scrotal wall.
