Immunizations: Are weakend live or dead bacteria/viruses injected in to thebody to create antibodies so that if real infection came along there would be antibodies already. Vaccines are started at birth and completed by age 5. Currently: 5 dtap; 4 hib; 4 prevnar; 3 hep b; 2 hep a; 2 varicella; 2 mmr; 3 rotavirus; 4 polio given in childhood.

Injections: Used to introduce antigens to people so that they can build antibodies against disease. Most immunizations are given in series with booster shots given in time to improve immune response.
