Cedar trees/shrubs: Cedars grow as small shrubs or trees and are in the genera juniperus. They are important sources of pollen leading to allergic rhinitis and occasionally asthma. In parts of texas, mountain cedar is notorious for producing enormous amounts of pollen. Eastern red cedar (virginia juniper) occurs throughout the eastern states. Western red cedar causes occupational asthma due to plicatic acid.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
