Cough and RA: Ra can affect the whole body, not just the joints. One such complication can be ra-associated interstitial lung disease, or ra-ild, a serious lung complication for people with rheumatoid arthritis. This illness can be hard to detect, but occurs when lung tissue becomes inflamed and eventually scarred. Men and smokers are more at risk, but it is a consideration worth investigating by your doctor.

Common things first: Common things are common, even in those with uncommon disorders. Should evaluate for asthma, gerd, upper airway cough syndrome (erstwhile pnd) and medications as the cause. If the above are ruled out, a ct chest and pulmonary function tests might be helpful in the diagnosis.
