Check with doctor : If this is being used as the initial immobilization in lieu of a cast the answer is likely yes. But check with the treating physician for proper direction.

Consult your doctor: You may be not need to. If you are not putting and pressure on it you may not need it on. On the other hand, if the motion is causing you pain and the air cast is limiting the motion, you may want to keep it on.
