Several Days: Soreness after a gingivectomy typically lasts several days. Exactly how long the soreness lasts will depend on how much tissue was removed & how it was removed (gingivectomy with a soft tissue laser typically results in less soreness than when performed with a scalpel, provided that it was done well and the operator knows how to use the laser properly).

A few days: Really it will be sore but should be gradually getting better after a few days and possible localized tenderness in some areas for a few days more. Ask your provider if you need more info.
