Magnesium Deficiency: There is a 24 hour urine test and a cell scraping test for magnesium. Symptoms of mag. Deficiency include hyperexcitability, dizziness, muscle cramps, muscle weakness and fatigue, irregular heartbeat. Muscle spasms and tremors can also happen. Eyelid twitching could occur, but there are many other more common causes of this. Mag. Is found in leafy green vegetable, soybeans, cashews and other nuts.

RBC magnesium: I favor rbc magnesium over serum magnesium. Rbc magnesium reflects tissue levels better. Aim to have levels in upper half of the range.
