See below: Pre clinical trials have found no evidence of mutagenic, teratogenic or oncogenic effects. High doses given to mice and rabbits caused toxicity. It is classified category c/ie. Animal reproduction studies have shown adverse effecst on the fetus and there are no well controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrent the use of the drug in pregnant women despite the potential risks.
