Not much difference: Both Hyalgan and supartz (hyaluronic acid) are considered "visco-supplementation" injections. Both work the same way, with similar formulation (molecular weight) of the medications. I would not expect you, as the patient, to notice any difference as far as pain from the injection. I have seen excellent results from supartz (hyaluronic acid) over many years of use.
