Listening to heart?: When a doctor listens to a patient's chest in the lying down, face up, position, he is often listening to the heart. Heart sounds and blood vessel sounds can change with changes in the body position.

Good Exam: There can be subtle differences on lung exam depending upon position. For example, in kids, some may wheeze audibly only while laying down. Good technique by your doctor!
