What is vaginal douching?

Not recommended: Vaginal douching is squirting water or water with a little vinegar up into the vagina to rinse the vagina out. It was thought that the vagina needed cleaning. This is actually not necessary. The normal vaginal discharge is the vagina's self cleaning mechanism. Douching increases the chance of bacterial infections in the vagina.
