Diet and exercise: I'm so glad you are on top of this. Many studies have shown that oftentimes diabetes can be avoided by a vigorous regimen of diet, exercise, and wt. Loss (if appropriate.) a "diabetic tendency" is actually caused by Insulin resistance. There are medications that can also help such as metformin, but diet and exercise are the first priorities.

Defintion below: Pre-diabetes= fasting 100-125, diabetes 200 and above 2 hours after eating 140-199, diabetes 200 and above if your 'tendency' for diabetes = above must treat yourself as diabetes!- follow no concentrated sweet diet- and see md to consider medications.
