A member asked:

Can trich get into the blood stream (if you have been infected) through a scratch in the vagina? if so what happens?

Not really: Trichomonas vaginalis only stays in the genital tract, and doesn't cause disease elsewhere. In the literature, if the patient is profoundly immunosuppressed with medication or cancer, there have been some reports of other trichomonads causing systemic infection, but not vaginalis as far as i see. If your immune system is ok, you will be fine with standard therapy, scratch or no.
