Don't share!: Contact lenses can harbor a large amount of bacteria. This can get transferred to the contact lens case, even when a good lens cleaning solution is used. And since we all have slightly different strains of bacteria on our eyes, sharing lens cases can transfer other people's potentially harmful bacteria. This can lead to a serious infection. Bottom line - don't share eye care items.

YES!: You can get a dangerous eye infection from sharing cases. Take good care of your contacts by using approved cleaning and rinsing solutions, using your own case, and washing and rinsing it regularly.

Not wise: You could pick up something that your shared partner is resistant to, by sharing the case. The person could also pick up something from you. And you might mix up the lenses and get blurred vision. Contact lens cases are cheap and readily available - why would you want to do this in the first place?
