What is meant by direct contact in spreading cold sore? sharing food bites direct contact or not? is it like like to get from share food bite?

Cold sore: mostly its from kissing, but saliva on a bite of food or cup/bottle could transfer the cold sore virus (herpes type 1 or non genital herpes) if the saliva was still moist. Taking a bite of someone's food later once it dries is not really an issue
