Yes, but .....: Estazolam or "prosom" is an fda approved hypnotic agent meaning it promotes sleep. It has a rather long half life so it is still likely to be having some effects the next morning. For this reason it is also used to treat anxiety. Short term use of this and other hypnotics can be helpful (up to 3 weeks). For chronic insomnia medications are much less useful whereas behavioral treatments work.

Estazolam: Estazolam can be effective for sleeping through the night but morning grogginess can be a problem. Per Drugs.Com some of the more common side effects with use of Prosom (Estazolam) can include memory problems, headache, dizziness, feeling “hungover”, sedation, GI upset, dry mouth & difficulty with coordination. This medication can become addictive. If it is used, use should only be short-term.
