See your Dentist: Cancer is serious. If you suspect it you should see your dentist and see if it needs to be biopsied.

Maybe not: The chances that you have developed cancer after only 2-8 weeks of smoking are slim. The best thing to do would be to get to your dentist for an examination and determine what is exactly in your mouth. If necessary, the dentist can take a biopsy of the lesion and see what it is and if it is indeed cancer. However, unless you have some other cancer-causing habit, it most likely isn't cancer.

Unlikely: If you have only been smoking for a couple of months and never used tobacco much beforehand, it's unilikey to be cancer. The most common lesions inside the mouth are mucoceles (ruptured salivary duct) or irritation fibromas. Regardless if it persists it's always a good idea to see a oral surgeon or otorhinolaryngologist.
