Certainly: Feeling guilty is a close cousin to serious anxiety. Things occur when a person has guilt associated anxiety. Our parasympathetic nervous system can go on a binge affecting heart beat, G.I. Activity, sleep, appetite, energy levels and things like our mental clarity and decision making capabilities. Guilt can become depression and it's very clear that depression has health consequences.

Guilt feelings result in a great deal of suffering and you would be wise to consult with a psychotherapist.
