Pain, lots of it.: Usually kidney stones are pretty painful. You'll get one-sided flank pain that comes in waves. Also nausea. The pain can move into your belly and down your abdomen. You might notice your urine is a different color - brown or red. That's from the blood caused by the irritation of the stone. If you think you might have one, you should see your family doctor. Here are some...: Reviewing history and conducting physicals leads to suspicion, and imaging studies usually CT with no contrast will confirm if stone is present in urinary tract or not.
