There are options : But you need to discuss with his cardiologist. Hard to believe that sotalol is not available there but sotalol, while an excellent & effective medication, does require some monitoring.

Yes, but...: There are medicines in the same class as sotalol like dofetilide, and they are also effective for many of the same problems, but they must be initiated under monitored circumstances to avoid a serious risk of dangerous heart rhythm problems. A pacemaker cannot protect you from such rhythms (only a defibrillator can do so) and i advise caution in your search.
