Be careful: You should be examined by a colon and rectal surgeon to be sure you have not damaged the sphincter, to rule out a fissure or tear and also to be sure you have not developed an infection or abscess from the tear. If you have a tear, topical anesthetics may cause you more pain than relief. Get a check up.
