A member asked:

Can a stable over 4 yrs lung nodule at 5mm grow to 1.6 mm in 12 months or be effected by a dental injected sedative the day before ct scan ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lung Nodule: An injected dental sedative has no effect on a lung tumor. A stable nodule may be a tumor, or it could be a scar from a previous localized infection. Most malignant tumors will grow considerably in 4 years; doubling in size in 12 months, however, raises the question that it is either a tumor in a growth phase or a granuloma or other form of chronic infectious process that should be followed up.
