A member asked:

When a person wakes up from a coma are they tired?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Coma: "tired" and "alert" refer to normal daily circadian rhythms relating to sleep and waking states. A coma is a different state, with brain dysfunction caused by many things (infection, low oxygen, toxins, continued seizures, medications and others. When the coma is resolved, the brain will return, slowly, to the normal waking and sleeping rhythms. The transition out of coma is more or less slow.
