Yes: Lipomas can feel firm but should not be rock hard. Best to get it removed and sent to the lab.

No: Lipomas are usually not hard, can feel firm but have some give to them. This is why it should be removed because until the pathologist evaluates the tissue you don't know the exact diagnosis.
