Difficult timing: Since your period is irregular, it it more difficult to tell early pregnancy if you don't have any symptoms. The hpt usually turns positive after 2 wks following conception. So if you only had relation 1 wk ago and got pregnant from that, it still won't show (too early). If you had relation, say 3 wks ago and got pregnant, likely it is positive now. You can test any time. Consult doc. Good luck.

Yes: If you get irregular periods then you don't really know when you are ovulating. Getting on birth control pills will regulate your periods.
