Hello, i would like to know how you tell between the pre-cancer and non pre-cancer calcifications and how fast can they change into a lump?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

DCIS aka "PreCancer": Calcifications are common in the breast & usually benign. The decision to biopsy is based on their size, pattern, & change in time. Those that are malignant can be invasive (infiltrating) or in-situ (pre-cancer aka dcis). While a subset of patients with dcis may progress to invasive cancer, it could take years before this were to become palpable.
