Wt is the difference in a ventral hernia and a wide mouth ventral hernia? i had hernia surgery a little over a year ago and this wide mouth came up

Size: A "wide mouth" ventral hernia is not an accepted term for a hernia in the medical field. However, i assume that your physician was trying to describe your hernia defect as being large. Hernias come in all shapes, sizes and positions. The wider a hernia defect, the more difficult it is to repair and the more likely it is for the repair to fail over time.
