Purging: I don't believe it does. Even if it does, it will do more harm to your health, and faster, than being overweight would.

Will Not Work: Using purging to lose weight does not make sense. The reason is that you will get hungry/urge and eat again. If it were possible to not eat when you get hungry (or eat less in the first place), then purging would have been unnecessary.
