See your doctor: If you have bipolar II disorder, you will experience severe depression and a less severe form of mania known as hypomania. Your doctor will review your history and current concerns to determine if you are having an episode of hypomania or if you’ve had one in the past and if your symptoms are causing significant problems in any part of your life such as your family life, your social life, work etc.

Hypo mania: The difference between bipolar 1 and bipolar 2 is mania vs hypo mania. Hypo mania is characterized by increased self esteem, increased productive activiy and usually a decreased need for sleep. Mani by definition includes psychosis and/or major problems with relationships and other social consequences or even legal problems and often requires hospitalization.
