It depends: Medications are given depending on what's happening with the patient. Anxiety and restlessness can come from many sources in a person with acute mi -- ongoing angina pain is only one possibility. This person needs to be in the hospital with monitoring by physicians and expert healthcare team. Only then can the right medicines be given at the right times.

Why?: Why? Where is the patient? Are you in the medical field? Morphine can be used as part of an overall, comprehensive treatment for mi, but there are contra-indications. I feel it is not appropriate for us here at healthtap to second guess someone already undergoing medical care, especially as we do not have nearly enough information to make such judgments.
