Call MD: If she was taken off of metoprolol and now hast rapid heart rate and high blood pressure then you should call her physician right away. Depending on the dose, this could be a cause of her symptoms but she should be evaluted first before making that determination.

Metoprolol: These are common problems seen in patients who have been on beta-blockers for a long period of time and then abruptly stop the medication. She should probably resume her previous dose and contact the prescribing physician asap for further instructions.
