A member asked:

How do you know how much to use your hands when they are arthritic and bones need replacing

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Regular light stress: The general rules are this: if it hurts a little it is ok, if it hurts a lot it is not ok. And use your joints under light stress regularly. The body is kind of smart about preventing further injury. It is certainly ok to premedicate yourself ( under your physician's guidance) prior to doing painful activities.
