trying to live with exer. comp. syn for 1.5 yrs to point where ehl is weak always and calf circumference has decreased; time for fasciotomy?

Most likely but: Assuming you have tried everything conservatively like physical therapy, art, rolfing, trigger point injections and have not seen an improvement the fasciotomy is indicated. You have very concerning symptoms and should be actively under the care of a sports medicine physician.

Your choice...: If you have a confimed diagnosis of ecs (direct measurement of compartment pressures) the only cure is surgery. There are no effective non-operative treatments other than activity modification.
