What could cause hay fever symptoms after several weeks of wet weather, yet pollen counts are low?

Mold: This could be a mold allergy or possibly a sinus infection.

Rhinitis and weather: Hay fever refers to the late summer/fall pollen season caused by several weeds, ragweed being the most important. However, the summer and fall is also a period where molds are active, thriving on warm, humid conditions. If you are getting hay fever symptoms (sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, etc.) despite low pollen counts, it may be due to outdoor molds. Allergy testing can distinguish the two.
