I started on 40mg vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) a week ago and on the first day, i felt the effects of it wonderfully. but after that, it seems that the effects decrease each day that i take it. why could it be?

That's not uncommon: You are still on a small dose vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) ask for dose increase, you should see a difference.
