Possibly! : Ichthammol (also known as ammonium bituminosulfonate) is not used much anymore, but is an interesting old remedy. Sometimes referred to as a "drawing salve", it can soften the skin over a boil to help it come to a head. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties which makes it very neat! but: if you have a boil, it is important to get it incised and drained asap by your doctor.
