Get it checked out: Bumps and pain near the cuticle are usually a sign of infection, but can occasionally be related to a problem with the nail or an underlying tumor. Your primary care doctor can treat most mild infections or determine if you need to be seen by a hand specialist.

Not sure: Need to have evaluated and diagnosed. Treatment depends on cause (i.e., bacterial, viral, etc.). Best to see some trained in treating hand and finger problems.
