Yes: You can also cause vocal cord inflammation and damage with prolonged yelling. Get a megaphone? :-).

Yes: Severe yelling can lead to vocal cord trauma or misuse of the muscles controlling the voice box and the local area. Both of these can lead to a sore throat. This doesn't happen all the time but it does happen.
