How many hours are two tablets of 20mg prednisone active in the body for?

24 hours: In general, Prednisone has effects that last for 24 hours. Some physicians choose to divide the daily dose into twice daily dosing to space out side effects such as increase activity, trouble sleeping, increased appetite, muscle aches, joint pains etc. And other physicians will dose it once daily if it is for a short course.
