What is the definition or description of: artificial hydration and nutrition?

TPN: I believe what you are asking is what is peripheral nutrition. Tpn (total parenteral nutrition) is the process of giving nutrients in their simplest form intravenously. This is usually done when the bowels can not be used, either temporarily or permanently (less common).
