What is the definition or description of: pediatric oncology?

Pediatric malignancy: Specialty/s taking care of children with maliganant conditions such as leukemia, solid tumors such as kidney tumors, neuroblastomas, gliomas( tumors of brain), retinoblastomas (of eye). May involve chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy as well as bone marrow transplants.

Cancer: Cancer of children. These are a unique set of cancers that only occur in children at certain ages.

Childhood cancer: Specialist in childhood cancers and mangement of chemotherapy and surveillance.

Childhood cancer: Pediatric oncology is the study of the diagnosis and treatments for childhood cancers. Much of the treatment involves chemotherapy, which is a major part of pediatric oncology.

Cancer in children: Simply put, this is the specialty and study cancers that affect children and adolescents under the age of 18.

Cancer care of child: Pediatric oncology is a subspecialty field that involves diagnosing and treating children with cancer. In contrast to adult oncologists, Pediatric hematologist/oncologists also provide care for children with cancerous and non-cancerous hematology problems.
