Fundoplication: The most commonly performed surgery for acid reflux is a fundoplication. This is performed laparoscopically in a variety of manners, but generally involves ensuring that any hiatal hernia is repaired, that the length of intra-abdominal esophagus is 5-8 cm and some form of stomach "wrap" (fundoplication) is performed.
