Txp surgery+ immunos: Transplant surgeons are fully trained in general surgery and have spent additional years training how to technically perform organ transplants. They also know the medicine and immunology of treating patients with immunosuppression. Remember that it is one thing to surgically remove an organ (if it is diseased), but very tough to remove it + keep it healthy enough to be used in another person.
