It is the excision : Of a disc in the neck region typically done through an anterior or "front" approach to decompress the neural tissue and/or allow for a fusion by preparing the dis space to accept an implant and/or bone graft. Sometimes, a disc fragment can be excised from a posterior approach through a small keyhole approach through the roof or lamina of the spine.
