Altering patterns: Behavior patterns are responses to perceived rewards and punishments. To modify behavior we seek to shift the reward/punishment system, so desired behavior is rewarded and undesirable behavior is negated or punished in some way. The most successful behavior mod rewards desired behavior and ignores undesirable behavior. Punishment may be used if the behavior to be adjusted is particularly egregious.
