Be sure of Diagnosis: Crohn's disease is usually diagnosed on biopsy of the colon or intestines. Your friend's nephew should see a specialist called a gastroenterologist. Fiber can be ok: If you have the type of Crohn's disease that causes strictures, it is best to avoid hard foods, such as raw green peppers and carrots and peanuts. If you do eat those foods you must chew every bit so that it is completely soft.
