Paraneoplastic syndr: Paraneoplastic syndromes is a disease whereby the cancer is secreting something like a hormone or chemical which causes a problem. There can also be immune responses to the cancer that cause problems as well and can be a paraneoplastic synrome. A good example is a lung cancer that secretes a parathyroid hormone that in turn causes high levels of calcium in the blood.
