Retropharyngabscess : Fascial layers in head and neck allow muscles and soft tissue glide over each other with ease. Since these layers lay on top of each other, potential space can be created in between them. There are many potential spaces in the head and neck. Retropharyngeal space is between buccopharyngeal fascia and alar fascia. Serious infections can arise from teeth infection and travel to this space.
