HEMORRHOIDS : These are dilatation of the hemorrhoidal veins in the anal canal 2/2 anything that increases intra-abdominal pressure (eg, coughing, straining from constipation, etc). They usually do not spontaneously regress. Therefore, prevention of worsening the disease is the hallmark of treatment as the alternative is surgical when it progresses. Your physician can help with ways to prevent the progression.
